The Sunshine Coast is abundant in exotic fruits varieties, the subtropical climate lending itself to fruits that are not found in other states.

There are more the common varieties such as mangos, lychees, pineapples, bananas, figs, custard apples, paw paws and passionfruits, but then there are also fruits such as carambolas, sapotes, rollinias and other lesser know fruits that are well worth experimentation. Oranges, mandarins and lemons are the Sunshine coast’s key citrus fruits, the kaffir lime joining them on a somewhat smaller scale. For something more exotic, fingerlimes, an Australian native fruit warrants some experimentation.

Look out for: Fig jam, road side stalls filled with exotic fruit samples,  Mango jams, syrups, ice cream, chutneys and Mango Daiquiris! Kaffir lime marmalade, Preserved lemons, Lime pickle, Limoncello liqueur, Lemon butter, Fresh Avocados, Avocado Oil, Avocado Dips, Avocado Mayonnaise.
