One of the wonderful things about being involved in the food industry is that you have a valid excuse to go to all the foodie events, the latest of which was a fabulous lunch at Martin Duncan’s Freestyle Escape.
For those of you that haven’t heard of Martin Duncan, well, you need to be initiated. Start by taking yourself to his Fortitude Valley dessert restaurant, Freestyle Tout (he will be at this weekend’s Noosa Food Festival with a stall featuring White Chocolate & Raspberry Dumplings – I bet you are sold now!). Then chill out at Freestyle Escape his divine property at Towen Mountain. And if you are in the food industry make sure you go to the next FBI (Food & Beverage Industry) networking meeting at the Sunshine Coast Brewery on May 18th.
Anyway, back to the lunch…
The lunch was held at his magical Towen Mountain property; a delicious terrine, venison and dessert, well, what would you expect from the dessert king himself other than a visually dramatic Pannacotta with Spiced Rhubarb and Strawberries, pretty darn yumm.
The day was made up of 38 foodie and tourism, industry people all of whom had an equally hard time getting over the combination of fantastic food, views and company, it’s a hard life…
While you may have missed out on the food event of the year, check out the below websites and you can have a voyeuristic appreciation for this special day.
